Junior Leadership Team (JLT)
The Junior Leadership Team (JLT) is an elected body of students who work with the Senior Prefect Team to improve the school. The JLT is made up of students from Years 7-10 along with our four Student Leadership Deputy Head Girls from the Sixth Form. Each student is elected by their year group in November and serves on the JLT for one year. Any student from those year groups is welcome to stand for election. The JLT is split into four committees and they each work on improving a different area of the school:
· Environment
· Learning
· Wellbeing
· Community
The team meets regularly with the Director of Student Experience to discuss new initiatives and to give feedback from their peers on the running of the school.
Meet the JLT Deputies
Rania
Deputy Head Girl for Wellbeing
I wanted to be in the SPT this year to help students improve their confidence, not just in how to deliver a speech but also in themselves. It is vital we all know our self-worth so we can be sure in our abilities and also just be happy and love who we are with all our crazy talents. This term we have run amazing charity events and I have worked closely with some Year 7’s helping them settle into secondary school and form strong friendships. So far, being part of the SPT has been wonderful. We are such an amazing group who will plan great things.
Jess
Deputy Head Girl for Community
I wanted to become a part of the SPT because I loved being a part of the Rosebery community, and I wanted to help strengthen it even further for future students. I knew that this role would give me the opportunity to make change, build a stronger community and have fun! Being part of a group of such strong, confident girls and being able to collaborate on different projects and events will give me such great memories and help me develop my leadership skills.
Naomi
Deputy Head Girl for Learning
I applied for this role because education and learning has always played such a prominent role in my life. School didn't always agree with me, but with the help of the wonderful community here at Rosebery school I've discovered that learning truly is a gift and it's also really fun! My goal is to help inspire younger students to fully engage in their work and be excited about the future that awaits them.
Noreen
Deputy Head Girl for Environment
I chose to apply for the SPT because I firmly believe that we all have a responsibility to give back to our communities, and this role is an amazing opportunity for me to contribute as much as I can to this school, in whatever way possible, and work closely with the teachers and students just as passionate about making changes and improving their surroundings.
After getting this role, I was so excited to see what I could do with my team.
And I am so proud of my team and the things we achieved, with one of the biggest achievement being Environment Week, where we had a cake competition, raising an impressive amount for the Friends of the Earth Charity, and planted saplings in school!
